Trash the Dress Montage – Maui Hawaii Wailea Beach

Thanks for watching!
We did this Trash the Dress session with Dave and Luciana August 27th 2009 at a beach in Wailea Maui. We meet up with this couple in their Kealani Resort room around 7 AM to get some prologue photo and video footage (please visit our website to see video). After spending about an hour in room gathering amazing Kealani shoots we went to a beach in Makena were Reverend Laki was waiting for us. We shot pre wedding shots at the beach then captured the event. We played with David and Luciana after ceremony which was used to create the Lovestory. Later that day we meet up for a sunset Trash the Dress session at a beach in Wailea. We had a great time taking pictures, video and getting to know them.
David & Luciana booked their wedding with Lori at Tropical Maui Weddings. She networked the flowers, hair/make-up minister, photo, video and finalized the timing for the wedding and trash the dress session.

Spearfishing and FreeDiving “China Walls” Oahu, Hawaii

Today, visibility was awesome, the underwater landscape at China Walls is breath-taking (some may suffer agro-phobia, fear of wide-open spaces). The fish (worth spearing/taking) are sparse….one Uhu, that was obviously a “wise one”…maybe next time!

Sea Cave along Maui’s Kanaio Coast (Maui, Hawaii)
Author: admin
We had to rise early in order to meet the tour at the Kihei boat ramp. We were staying in Lahaina and had about a 25-mile drive with a fair amount of city-type driving to get there. We calculated about 50 minutes to make that trip.
It’s easy to get up early when you come to Hawai’i from the US East Coast. After all, during the winter, 7:00am in Hawai’i is only noontime for our internal clocks. So it’s easier to arrange these early morning tours within the first couple days of our stay here.
We met the folks with Blue Water Rafting quite literally at the boat ramp. They launched the boat and we all climbed aboard.
The boat was a deep-V, hard-hulled, inflatable-type vessel. Because of the deep-V, the boat was easily able to cut through the rough water. The water got extremely rough as we headed around the southern side of Maui, where the gusty tradewinds were not blocked by the mass of the island.
The highlight of this boat tour was this encounter with a sea cave along the Kanaio Coast. I hope you find this video interesting.
As we headed back around the western side — the more wind protected side — we stopped at La PĂ©rouse Bay for some snorkeling. This was where I had a close encounter with a green sea turtle. It appeared as if he was seeking food. When he saw we had none, he moved on to beg from others. But I did manage to get a photo of him with my underwater single-use camera.
I had a hard time snorkeling here, though. The water temperature — about 75? Fahrenheit — was a little too cool for this Florida boy. I knew I should have brought a shorty wetsuit. Needless to say, I did not stay in the water too long.
We also stopped at Makena for some more snorkeling before heading back to the boat ramp.
Unfortunately, we never crossed paths with any spinner dolphins. Although it was the end of January, we did not see and humpbacks either.
This tour was just okay in our book because of the rough ride. My normally tough sea legs were put to the test and I was starting to feel ill by the time we returned to the ramp. My wife, who is usually easily sickened by the wave action, had taken Dramamine the night before and the morning of this tour. She was also starting to show signs of problems.
If you are easily overtaken with motion sickness, you may want to reconsider this ride. It’s a tough one.
