I have never surfed before if you have any tips at all I would be grateful!
Take lessons at Cove Beach in Kihea. It's just north of Wailea and South of Lahaina. It has very gentle rolling waves and the water is waist/chest deep for about 200 yards out so you could even walk your board when you get tired. There's a few surf shops right there that give lessons.
