Unequivocally the best show at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Part 1 includes fire starting and coconut cracking. Part 2 includes coconut milk making, tree climbing, and singing of Samoan national anthem.
The demonstrator, by the name of Byron Pailogi Tenney (http://gopolynesia.wordpress.com/), is super funny and has the real grasp of English, Chinese and Japanese languages.

This 168 pound Blue Marlin was landed aboard the Magic in Kewalo Basin Marina on Oahu. I have fished on this boat 6 times and have caught Marlin, Ono, Mahi Mahi, Aku and Spearfish Marlin. This is the best Captain and crew I have fished with. I have been on a few other boats in the harbor, but like this boat the best. It’s a 50′ Pacifica and is very comfortable.

Here are some recent catches:

http://www.magicsportfishing.com/slide/gallery.php

Magic holds many Hawaii Sportfishing records:

Charter fleet records

1032 lbs Largest Marlin Pokai Bay Tournament
1174 lbs. Largest Charter Catch 1997
1106 lbs. Largest Marlin Lahaina Jackpot Tournament 1996
Most yellowfin Tuna 1980-2005
Most Marlin 1996-2005
Most Blue Marlin In One Day (5)
Most Striped Marlin In One Day (11)
Most Yellowin Tuna In One Day (17, 17, 16, 15, 14,)
Most Mahi-mahi In One day With Charter (65)
Most 1st Place Tournament Finishes
8 Blue Marlin over 500 lbs in 2004
Champion, Hooters Big Game, Total Weight Category, 2001
Outstanding catches: 1174, 1106, 1032, 869, 850, 801 lbs.

The captain is Russell Tanaka who has over 20 years of experience in commercial fishing in the Hawaiian waters. Russell tanaka holds several distinctions, being the only skipper in the world to have caught the largest fish in a tournament weighing in at over a 1,000 pounds twice! And the only skipper in Hawai’i who has caught three marlins over 1,000 pounds. Russell uses his expertise to try to assure good catches for his passengers.

Scenes from our stay on the north shore June 2006. Now the surf and surfing scene isn’t the greatest at this time of year but I am not a surfer anyway. This is where we spent our Hawaii Vacation on Oahu’s Northshore. Very reasonable and very beautiful. This is all from the PupuKea beach area…there are many nice vacation rentals here and it is so pleasant to walk along the little Ke Iki Road down to Shark’s Cove which is great for snorkeling There is also a super market with a Starbucks all in walking distance. This is the area between Sunset beach and Upper’s Beach Park’s. I still like Marriott’s Ko’Olina Beach Club but this area is a much more relaxing and slower pace…larger waves too. All and all the best most affordable as well as relaxing place to stay in Hawaii. My opinion.
