didn’t even relize it was that bad on Kauai. It looks like maui but I got to say there really isn’t that bad traffic here…yet. I am about Makena too. People don’t really care though especially the new generation “locals”. I am not fromhere but I do feel the pain of the people, as this is actually occuring everywhere at this point. Ive lived on the …
Ive lived on the west side of Kaua’i my whole life and although we dont see too much development on this side i still see it on the other side. I love Kaua’i the way it is and all the overdevelopment is killing its beauty. That goes for all the other islands as well. To understand our anger, you have to have grown up in the lifestyle we have. Yes, with time comes change but sometimes the change isnt always good.

Time and time again …
Time and time again the local people of our island have to put up with the short sightedness and lack of aloha of our beloved Kauai County Concil and the Planning Commission. If this video keeps their pockets empty more power to them. Don’t listen to those haoli who dis this video I can tell already they have no heart in this beautiful island. If can, please make one of the raping of Kokee. Mahalo for this great work. The people of Kauai at last have a voice. Keep up the good work.

Not true at all. During any normal rush hour yes the traffic is bad. I don’t deny that. But seriously, anyone who missed a flight on this island is just too dumb to leave early enough to make it on time. I was all over the island and didn’t have one issue with traffic besides in the morning. And if I wanted to be some place in the morning, I LEFT EARLY! It works that way any where you go/ live. It’s probably better you moved since you can’t handle a simple thing like traffic anyway. KAPAA RULES!

You are full of shit! I just moved from there for the very reason in this video. Traffic any time of day anywhere on the island. And the people that miss there flight are normal people who get caught in the traffic. You really don’t know what your talking about!!!

I was in Kauai this August. This video is CRAP!!! There is definatly too many housing projects that seem to be going up. But that is something the people need to deal with thru government. And the people on the island have a right to be pissed. Did you listen to the man they tryed to make look like an ass? They are plowing over hillside trees for more f’n housing! That would me off too. And the “fact” of 5 people/ day missing flights… those are people being dumb tourists. LEAVE SOONER!!!

I think what xlostpnai and some others are trying to say is that two wrongs don’t make a right. I definitely see your point about how the early settlers first occupied the islands and how the haoles are doing it again now, but locals are saying that they want to keep from overdeveloping.

I’ve lived on Kauai …
I’ve lived on Kauai for about a year and a half and still travel there once a month for couple of days. The traffic is bad, but not as bad as the video shows. It’s mostly BS. As for the development ….what development? All the people on Kauai know that there are more businesses that close down than new developments. Thousands of gorgeous new units…it’s not gonna happen. I love this island…and miss it every day (Currently live on Maui).

this is a mean-spirited and cynical video. but it is pure B.S. we just spent 8 days in Kauai and loved Kapa’a. We did not spend 25% of our time there by any means. What a load of crap. This person obviously has an ax to grind…Kauai is beautiful and you WILL enjoy your vacation there. 68,000 people living there. It’s awesome and super low key. Try coming to California with our 36 million people. This guy is an uneducated loser who hasn’t gotton out much. LOL

We just got back …
We just got back from there. Beautiful island! Traffic is only alittle slow/bad during rush hour. Go and visit. We’re thinking of moving there we liked it so much!!!

OK, so you can call …
OK, so you can call me a Haole. Our family visited Kauai in 1999, 2004, 2006, and 2009. There is a sign entering Koloa Town from the tree tunnel side “Aloha Come Again”. We would see that sign on the way to the airport after our final Camp House Grill meal.
Well, Camp House Grill is gone and so is most of the Aloha we treasured. The trampling of this precious land has soured the spirit of the people.
We hope the land will be restored to you one day and we always welcome you to our home.

I was stationed on Kauai from 1998 to 2001 , while in the USCG. I remember it being a beautiful place and the traffic wasnt that bad. Either this video is a con, or things do change over time…..

natives? there is no originals the first ones who landed migated from the Tahiti area. plus rascist remarks don’t help matters,,,while I agree the greedy builders need to take better care and stop the over building this happens all over..Hawaii is beautiful and should be respected..God made a slice of heaven on earth so show it respect.

I had to laugh at this video…made by someone who doesn’t want anyone else to come here..I’ve lived her for a year and although it does get back up occassionally…it’s nothing that bad. Go on any blog and you will see that Kauai is an amazing place to live….don’t believe everything you see!
