Does anyone know when the Babies R Us is going to open up in Pearl City of the Island of Oahu, Hawaii?

try calling a local Toys R Us and asking if they know, since they are a related company. I just got back from Oahu on Friday and drove through Pearl City several times! Wish I were still there!

I've head of discount & 2/1 Luau tickets, but don't see them on the web. Any suggestions?

I'm not one on going through timeshare presentations as they are a waste of my precious beach time. To save money on attractions I always buy an entertainment book. You get lots of coupons for activities and attractions. Most of the time, if I even use one coupon it pays for itself. They are currently on sale for $9.99 here.

I want to move to maui but i dont know which city.

Maui has basically three urban areas: Wailuku-Kahului, Kihei-Wailea and Lahaina-Kaanapali.

I live in Kihei and I think it is a decent place to live, specially the north end where it is somewhat more affordable. As far as surfing goes, people seem to prefer the Paia area which is near Kahului, although the beaches along the Honoapiilani Hwy (Road to Lahaina) always seem to have many surfers.

Good luck!

I have been there in the summer before, but never the winter. What kind of clothes should I bring?

The days are about 80 degrees and the nights can be 60 degrees. If you come from a really cold place like Canada…we get a lot of visitors from Canada at this time of year. Then you may not notice the difference. Just bring a light sweater and a couple pairs of pants. And and umbrella we have been getting more rain this year.

we will be going to maui on vacation with our 8yr boys and we are in search for chain restaurants like, TGI Fridays, Chilis, applebees that would appeal to our kids and be more affordable.

I just got back from a week on Maui, and we did see some mainland chains like Denny's. But there are also lots of affordable and fun local restaurants. Don't limit your search to known chains. When you land at the airport, look at the brochure racks that are all around the baggage claim area (and people hand them out as you walk out). These are really helpful, because many will give you lists of restaurants by cost and location, and explain any fun aspects.

I don't know if you want to take your kids to the aquarium in Ma'alaea, but if you do, you can combine a visit with eating there. Both the aquarium and the on-grounds informal restaurant are quite nice, and both seemed very kid-friendly to us kidless visitors.

There are lots of pizza places, both chain and local, that you might find useful.

Have a great time!

I spent Christmas and New Year 2008/09 in Oahu, Hawaii with some friends and family. While I was there I went on two Lost Tours. Here is a video I put together of some of the footage I gathered on the tour. Sorry about the quality of the video. I do have better quality footage but it has my face on it which I don’t want to display on YouTube.

The H?na Highway (also known as the Hana Road or Road To Hana) is 68-mile roadway and the main highway connecting the population center of Kahului with the town of H?na in east Maui. Although H?na is about 52 miles from Kahului, a typical trip to H?na takes about three hours, as the road is very winding and passes over many one-lane bridges.
